Garden Tractor Pull to benefit Honor Flight Charity to be held June 2 at Marshall-Putnam Fairgrounds

Come to the Marshall-Putnam Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 2, 2012, as the Rock County Pullers Champions Tour stops in Henry, Illinois. The Rock County Pullers club has been providing family entertainment for 28 years in the form of garden tractor pulling. The activities throughout the day will benefit the Honor Flight Network whose main purpose is to fly America's verterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials honoring their sacrifices.

The MPFB Women's Committee held its annual Health Fair on Thursday, March 29th. This event was made available to all Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau members. Eighty members attended the fair.

On March 6, 2012, Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau sponsored a trip to Case New Holland and Sara Lee for FFA students from Marshall and Putnam county high schools. Each school sent 15 FFA students on the trip.

Amendment to Cemetery Care Act reduces regulatory burden on smaller cemeteries

In response to unfortunate problems that surfaced at the Burr Oak Cemetery in the Chicago area, the General Assembly passed legislation in 2009 creating new regulations for cemeteries. While changes may have been necessary, the new regulations were especially burdensome for small cemeteries.

College Day for Agriculture held at M-P Farm Bureau

On November 16th, students from high schools in Bureau, Marshall, Putnam and Stark counties attended the 5th annual College Open House at the Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau building. Representatives from the Agriculture Departments of Black Hawk College, Illinois Central College, Illinois State University, Illinois Valley Community College, Parkland College, Joliet Junior College, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Western Illinois University participated in the event.
